YREKA, Calif.- The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors heard from Crystal Geyser Company representatives and community members Tuesday morning.
This is the first time county leaders heard public testimony and a presentation from Crystal Geyser, since the company began a project four years ago to open a new beverage production and tea brewing facility in Mount Shasta.
“We were assured that all operations was in full-compliance with all of Siskiyou County’s zoning ordinances,” said Judy Yee, the company’s Executive Director.
Opponents to the project are concerened about how the facility will affect the environment.
Crystal Geyser has invested $60 million in Siskiyou County.
The new facility will soon be ready to begin production.
Crystal Geyser has filed permits required by the county and plans to submit a waste-water discharge permit application soon.
