Economic Benefit

  • The Mt. Shasta facility represents roughly a $60 million investment in Siskiyou County.
  • Sales, property, and income taxes will provide a significant boost to the regional economy.
  • Total contribution to the local economy has been estimated by an independent economic study to be nearly $40 million each year. To read more about this survey click here

  • Our average water usage over the course of a year will be 115,000 gallons per day (gpd) with one bottling line at full production.  This is less than 1% of the total daily output of Mt. Shasta Big Springs.
  • We will rinse bottles with air, not with water, which will allow us to ensure the majority of the water we extract will go directly in the bottle.  In addition, it will reduce our wastewater discharge from 250,000 gpd to 54,000 gpd.
  • We will only discharge water as approved by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) to the onsite leachfield.
  • Selected power generators & boilers meet highest emission standards.  In fact, the emissions of both the generators and the boilers are below threshold levels set by the Siskiyou County Air Pollution Control District.
  • We are building the facility to be LEED (Leader in Energy & Environmental Design) certified.
  • We currently monitor the outflow at Big Springs and have done so for many years. Additionally, we monitor three deep wells, including our production well. We provide quarterly reports on this data to the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB)
  • We are participating in an independent water monitoring survey of Big Springs conducted by CalTrout. To learn more about this study click here…
